Attorney Andy Nguyen was born in California but has spent the majority of his life in Central Florida.1 He attended the University of Central Florida, where he earned an undergraduate degree in Business Management. During his time there, he was a member of Phi Delta Psi and committed to volunteer community work. Following college, Andy began a career as an accountant, working for a firm in the home building industry and rising to the position of Senior Accountant.
Driven by a desire for a more fulfilling career and the opportunity to help those in need, Andy pursued his Juris Doctor at Barry University Dwayne O’Andrea School of Law, graduating in 2022. While in law school, he gained valuable experience interning at the Legal Aid Society, where he assisted low-income individuals with legal matters.
Andy is fluent in both spoken and written Vietnamese, which has allowed him to build a strong connection with the Vietnamese community in Orlando. This relationship and his background inspired him to advocate for those who are at a disadvantage due to language barriers, cultural differences, and a lack of legal representation.
As an attorney, Andy utilizes his passion and business acumen to defend the rights of people against powerful insurance companies and large businesses in cases involving personal injury and workers’ compensation claims. He also dedicates his practice to helping people navigate the complex immigration system to achieve their dreams of becoming United States Citizens. Andy is a member of the Florida Bar.
More Than a Lawyer: A Bridge Between Two Worlds
For many in the Vietnamese community, the American legal system can feel like a foreign landscape with its own language and unspoken rules. Andy Nguyen was born and raised with a deep respect for Vietnamese heritage, and he understands that effective legal representation requires more than just bilingual skills—it requires cultural competency.
Andy serves as a “Cultural Bridge” for his clients, ensuring that:
Nuance is never lost: He understands that concepts like Giữ Thể Diện (Saving Face) can impact how a client shares their story, and he prepares them to navigate depositions with confidence.
Family comes first: He recognizes that in our community, legal decisions often affect the entire family, and he welcomes that collective support.
The system understands you: He translates the “high-context” nuances of Vietnamese culture into the “low-context,” evidence-based requirements of the Florida court system.
"I believe that legal representation is about more than just a case file; it’s about supporting the community as a whole. To help our neighbors navigate life in Central Florida more easily, I’ve curated a Central Florida Vietnamese Community Resource Guide featuring bilingual doctors, professional associations like GOAABA, and local cultural centers."
